Forget hi-fi. Tannoy Prestige speakers are designed and built like fine musical instruments, producing startlingly immediate, dynamic, and utterly captivating sound, rich in tone, as close to a live performance as anything in audio.  No matter what your musical tastes, whether jazz, reggae, electronic, classical, hard rock, or whatever, the Tannoy Dual Concentric design is a magical antidote to clinical high-end loudspeaker alternatives.

The Canterbury works magnificently in spaces ranging in size from a large sitting room to substantial halls, and in all interior decors, from traditional to contemporary. It can be powered by low-powered valve amps, including single-ended triodes, or high-powered solid-state monoblocs, with both bi-wiring and bi-amping options.

96 dB efficient, an 8 Ohm load. The Canterbury SE uses a large 15″ Dual Concentric low frequency driver and a 2″ Dual Concentric Tweeter with Alnico magnets. The cabinet is sized at 44″ high 27″ wide and 19″ deep. Finished with the look of fine furniture in Walnut Veneer with solid Walnut edging. Perfect for large rooms that would benefit from larger drivers capable of moving more air. With all the features one would expect from this top end Loud Speaker: Acrolink internal wiring from terminal panel to crossover and crossover to drivers, all 6N copper. That is 99.9999% pure. HovlandMusicaps, Vishay resistors and even gold plated terminals. There is no compromise on quality you are simply buying into top end in Tannoys Prestige Range of Speaker.

Sometimes the first idea is the best. This is Tannoys closest offering to the true original design of 1947. Dual concentric with the pepper pot waveguide for the central horn tweeter. The original and to my ears still the best. Loved by musicians and audiophiles that look for real true sound reproduction in their home, that is live sound for People that know & appreciate their music. Something that is dynamically, harmonically and literally sounds closest to the real thing. Not too many other speakers’ can top this one & I doubt you could source one, particularly at this price point. Let me explain, if you want something that will last into the next generations that will be enjoyed over time that has the backup from a proud & caring company like Tannoy that has been around since the 1920’s with a proven reputation & the well-known relevant fact that these baby’s sing like the sweetest little birdy or are capable of a monsters roar. I have Truely Loved & enjoyed these Speakers over the years in their looks as well as their sound.

The 15” version of the Tannoy Dual Concentric™ drive unit in the Canterbury SE is equipped with an Alcomax 3 magnet system and the Tannoy PepperPot WaveGuide™ to further enhance the point source symmetrical dispersion properties of the driver. Acoustically this speaker delivers a superbly dynamic overall presentation with fast, accurate bass, fluid and open midrange and clean, spacious high frequencies – an exceptionally involving performance. The Cabinets are engineered with a unique bass tuning system that allows low frequency output to be tuned to suit any room dimension (placed on the sides & adjustable Solid Birch slotted panels )Careful consideration has been given to the precise layout of all the Prestige crossovers in order to minimize inter-component coupling and they are positioned well away from the driver to avoid any detrimental magnetic field effects.

Birch ply panels and a complex internal bracing structure create an exceptionally substantial enclosure with timeless beauty in the 15-inch Dual Concentric Monitor is Capable of high-volume listening without fatigue,It is very rare to find a used pair of these speakers.
